Three
officers coming from Alpha Phi Omega Australia Alumni Association
(Chapter 75) file their respective certificate of candidacy for the
forthcoming APO-ARAP Election on 14 April 2007 at Fairfield, NSW,
Australia.
APO Australia Council of Elders Chairperson, Sis Yolanda Gacho (Beta '70) was the first to file her candidacy for the position of Regional Director-ARAP. A brother from Delta Eta (1976) and a member of the Council of Elders Jimmy Ahillon also file his candidacy as Deputy Regional Director.
On the other hand, the current
Vice-President for External Affairs and member of the Board of
Directors of the Philippine Community Council of New South Wales , Bro
Ronaldo Villaver of Zeta Epsilon Chapter (1980) filed his certificate of candidacy as Chairperson, Section 3 of
APO-ARAP. Composing Section 3 are the following countries: Australia,
Ne Zealand and the outlying islands of the Pacific Rim Except Hawaii.
In addition
to Section 3 countries, ARAP also composed of Section 1 - Japan, Korea,
China, Taiwan and Honkong and Section 2 - Countries of the ASEAN
excluding the Philippines.

In
recognition of the services rendered by APO Australia Inc, to the
Philippine-Australia community, the Philippine Community Council of New South
Wales (PCC-NSW) in its 11 March 2007 meeting voted favorably to appoint APO Australia
Inc. to be one of its PCC-NSW Board of Directors.
The
approval was relayed to APO Australia’s Vice-President for External Affairs
Ronaldo Villaver (Zeta Epsilon ‘1980 – LSU [formerly ViSCA]) who is its
duly representative to the PCC-NSW. APO Australia Inc. is one
of the member-organisations of PCC-NSW, the peak body of all
Philippine-Australia community organistions in the State of New South Wales.
The
recent appointment of APO Australia to PCC-NSW Board will provide us the opportunity
to uplift our leadership skills, promote friendship and more service
opportunities to the Filipino-Australian community as well as mainstream
Australian community.
Likewise,
this appointment is another achievement of APO Australia Inc. under the
leadership of President Shane Almonte.

This is to announce that an Off-Season Mango Training will be conducted in various dates and locations around the Province of Cebu on March 2007.
According to Vic Castaneda, the Technical Representative of Syngenta for Cebu and Leyte and a member of Zeta Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega Philippines, the said training will be held on the following dates and venues:
March 21, 2007 - 8am @ Office of the Department of Agriculture Toledo City
March 21, 2007 - 1pm @ Office of the Department of Agriculture, Balamban, Cebu
March 22, 2007 - 8am @ Intosan Resort, Danao City

Bro Romeo D. of the Department of Agriculture Regional Office No. 8 (Eastern Visays, Philippines) is currently pursuing a master's degree at the University of Queensland under the Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) Program of the Australian Agency for International Development Assistance (AusAid). He just returned to Australia recently after several months of conducting his field research topic in the Philippines. He is expected to complete his degree by second semester this year and will reinstate to his work at the Department of Agriculture thereafter.
Bro. Romeo D. is a member of Zeta Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega Philippines and a batchmate of Vice-President for External Affairs Ronaldo V of APO Australia Inc.
